OF EFFECTIVE USE OF AGRICULTURAL LAND

This article examines the economic and theoretical foundations of effective agricultural land
use, with emphasis on Uzbekistan and comparable transition economies. Drawing on classical rent theory,
neoclassical production models, institutional economics, and sustainable development frameworks, the study
constructs an Integrated Multi-Dimensional Land Efficiency (IMDLE) framework. Empirical analysis reveals
persistent gaps between actual and potential land productivity, driven by institutional barriers, inefficient water
use, and limited adoption of modern technologies. The article advances concrete policy recommendations
including land tenure modernization, digital agriculture promotion, and agro-industrial integration.
