Abstract

This article scientifically assessed opportunities for ensuring sustainable economic development
in Khorezm Region through the diversification of the sectoral structure of fixed capital investment. The
Herfindahl–Hirschman Index, Shannon entropy, and normalized evenness measures were applied to evaluate
investment concentration and diversity. Using official statistical data, the distribution of investment across
manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, and other economic activities was analyzed. The findings showed
that the region had developed a coherent agro-industrial and logistics structure while retaining further potential
for sectoral diversification. The proposed approach provided a scientific basis for improving investment
monitoring, strengthening the efficient use of regional capabilities, supporting structural transformation, and
guiding investment toward activities capable of reinforcing long-term economic resilience
