Abstract

Although research on digital learning systems with institutional platforms is growing, few studies
have focused on the localized adaptation process through the integration of open-source LMS platforms.
The present study opens broad perspectives for the contextual alignment of open-source LMS platforms in
Uzbek-medium higher education studies, including the role of language localization and system usability and
their impact on adoption behavior in responding to institutional constraints. The purpose of this study is to
examine the role of localization features and system usability in achieving effective adoption in responding to
the needs of Uzbek-medium higher education. Collected survey data were subjected to a detailed structural
equation modeling analysis to estimate the conditional probability that a user has a high adoption level, given
the presence of one or more of its system usability indicators. In order to analyze adoption behavior and user
perception while also including faculty-related factors, certain correlation measures and structural paths were
combined with the measurement set defined by SEM, which resulted in the integrated analytical model. The
results show that users’ favorable perception of the localized interface and their perceived usefulness show that
positively influences the formation of their adoption intention through the mediating effect of system usability
perception toward learning management effectiveness, faculty management efficiency, and user satisfaction.
The results also show the positive impact of localization quality and usability features on adoption rate during
the implementation phase. Moreover, understanding the determinants of system adoption for localized LMS
platforms in relation to the structural model of user behavior is a contribution to educational technology
research that may help future implementations achieve faster adoption. This study can also benefit higher
education institutions as it provides practical implications such as design guidelines to support the use of the
localized LMS model and it contributes to the existing literature in the area of digital learning systems and
faculty management in general.
