The article systematizes the economic content, principal types, and theoretical foundations of the efficient use of economic resources. Economic resources are classified into natural, labor, capital, and entrepreneurial resources, while particular attention is also given to the growing importance of financial, information, and innovation resources in the modern economy. The study examines the relationship between resource scarcity and continuously growing human needs, as well as the concepts of opportunity cost, the production possibility frontier, and marginal productivity. It also substantiates the practical relevance of these theoretical approaches for small businesses in optimizing resource allocation, managing costs, and enhancing production efficiency. The findings may serve as a theoretical and methodological basis for the rational utilization of resources, the effective integration of information and innovation resources into economic processes, and the promotion of sustainable economic growth. Keywords
