Abstract

This article examines the economic mechanism of state regulation of the transport system of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It considers legal, tax, licensing, financial, and tariff instruments, with particular attention to regional specificities and the meso-level of the economy. The study identifies key areas for further development, including the continuation of structural reforms, balanced infrastructure development, closer alignment of the road network with socioeconomic needs and motorization trends, renewal of fixed assets, reduction of regional disparities, and technological modernization. It also examines key regulatory conditions related to infrastructure sectors, natural monopolies, tariff mechanisms, and competitive market development. Particular attention is given to the technical, economic, institutional, and technological factors influencing the development of railway transport. The article concludes by proposing a system of indicators for monitoring transport enterprises and interactions among transport market participants.
