ASSESSMENT OF THE PENETRATION LEVEL OF FINTECH, REGTECH AND SUPTECH TECHNOLOGIES IN UZBEKISTAN’S FINANCIAL SYSTEM
DOI:
https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23342577Abstract
This article assesses the extent to which FinTech, RegTech and SupTech technologies have been adopted within Uzbekistan’s financial system. Drawing on the diffusion of innovations theory and the classification of SupTech generations, a four-level assessment scale encompassing technology adoption, infrastructure and the institutional environment is developed. An analysis of data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, Global Findex and the Ministry of Internal Affairs indicates that FinTech has reached Level 3, while RegTech and SupTech remain at Level 2. The adoption of digital payment services has progressed more rapidly than the development of protective technologies, with this disparity coinciding with a 68-fold increase in cybercrime between 2019 and 2024. The article proposes measures to support the development of the RegTech market, facilitate the transition towards data-driven supervision and improve sectoral statistics. Keywords
