Abstract

This article analyzes the current state of development of the food industry in the Khorezm Region and evaluates the effectiveness of state regulatory mechanisms in the sector. The study examines the dynamics of food production, the number and structure of food industry enterprises, investment activity, employment, production capacity, and the sector’s contribution to regional economic development. Particular attention is paid to the role of state regulatory instruments, including financial and tax incentives, investment support, infrastructure development, technical regulation, quality and safety control, and measures aimed at supporting entrepreneurship. The study identifies the main factors influencing the development of the food industry in the region and assesses the extent to which existing regulatory mechanisms contribute to improving production efficiency, competitiveness, investment activity, and food security. The analysis also considers the relationship between state support measures and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the food processing sector. Based on the findings, recommendations are developed to enhance the effectiveness of state regulation, stimulate technological modernization, strengthen processing capacity, expand market opportunities, and increase the competitiveness of food industry enterprises in the Khorezm Region.
