Abstract

The rapid development of digital technologies is transforming the tourism industry by introducing platformbased
business models that enhance the efficiency of tourism services and improve interaction among market
participants. This study examines the application of digital technologies in the tourism market and evaluates the
efficiency of the platform economy in the context of tourism development.
The research analyzes the role of digital platforms in reducing information asymmetry, lowering transaction
costs, increasing service transparency, and improving consumer access to tourism services. Particular attention
is paid to the development of tourism digitalization in Uzbekistan, including trends in domestic, inbound, and
outbound tourism, as well as the performance of tourism companies on major digital platforms and social media
networks.
The study employs comparative, statistical, and empirical analysis methods to assess the effectiveness
of digital technologies and platform-based services. The findings indicate that digital platforms significantly
improve service accessibility, customer engagement, and market competitiveness. Social media platforms,
online booking systems, mobile applications, big data analytics, and artificial intelligence technologies contribute
to more personalized tourism services and better consumer decision-making.
The results also reveal that the successful implementation of digital technologies requires not only
technological advancement but also institutional support, effective management, and continuous monitoring
of performance indicators. The study concludes that digital transformation has become a critical factor in
enhancing the competitiveness, sustainability, and investment attractiveness of the tourism sector. Furthermore,
the platform economy creates new opportunities for tourism development by improving service quality,
strengthening market transparency, and increasing consumer satisfaction.
